Much awaited “Dislike” button is coming to Facebook said the founder Mark Zuckerberg

In the meeting in the town hall the founder of the popular social media website Facebook Mark Zuckerberg said that the dislike button will be a way for people to show empathy.

With this he said that people are asking for a dislike button since the launch of revolutionary like button.

Mark said that they received many messages regarding the need of dislike button, but they don’t want to make Facebook like a forum with up and down votes.

“Probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it.”

Mark also added that “It took us a while to get here… because we don’t want to turn Facebook into a forum where people are voting up or down on people’s posts. That doesn’t seem like the kind of community that we want to create.”

He said that a like button is not appropriate for the situations where a family member died or some thing sad, where you like to show empathy but its hard to press a like button.

They have been working on this for a while but it was surprisingly more difficult then they thought it would.

“But we have an idea that we think we’re getting ready to test soon, and depending on how that goes, we’ll roll it out more broadly.” said Mark Zuckerburg.
