Tron fan bought a real life light cycle for $77,000
When a real life Tron light cycle was placed for auction by RM Sotheby’s the bidding price was set between $25,000 to $40,000 but this real life light cycle was sold at a $77,000.
The real life light cycle is a completely functional replica of the light cycle used in the 2010 movie Tron: Legacy. This all-electric light cycle is made with the look and feel of the one used in the movie.
The bike was placed in auction by The Andrews Collection, the condition of the bike was listed as new.
The official details of the bike on the auction are “96 volt, direct-drive electric motor with lithium batteries and a computer-controlled throttle, rebound and compression damping with spring preload front suspension and rigid rear suspension, and front and rear hydraulic brakes.”
As per now there is not much information available about the anonymous buyer who took home the all-electric real life light bike.
The bike sold at the auction is street legal. This bike was built for The Andrews collection, the bike was partially built by third-party and for the completion the bike was sent to Andrew’s.
The bike is powered by lithium batteries, and computer controlled transmission. The height of the seat is very low, just about 28.5 inches, its low height seating position helps rider to ride the bike at low speeds.
